Invoicing and credit notes

Approved timesheets are what invoices are built from — nothing bills until an approver has signed off the hours.
Two kinds of invoice
- Self-bills — your agency's own invoice to itself, sent to the contractor for their records (if self-billing is enabled for your account — see Creating a contract).
- Client invoices — what you bill the end client for the work.
Dashboard → Invoices lists both kinds, and you can filter by status.
Getting invoices out
- Push to Xero, if connected, sends an invoice across as a draft you finish in Xero.
- Export CSV, or the Accounting Exports menu (Sage 50/Cloud batch Sales Invoices, QuickBooks Online batch import), covers agencies on a different ledger.
- Mark paid on an invoice records payment directly in Templio when you're not pushing to an accounting package.
Correcting an invoice
If an invoice is wrong after it's been sent, open it and use Credit & reissue: give a reason of at least 10 characters, and Templio raises a credit note against the original and lets you issue a corrected replacement. The credit history is kept on the invoice so the audit trail is complete.
Overdue invoices
Templio tracks each invoice's due date from the client's payment terms (see Adding clients and approvers) and flags anything gone overdue.
